Leo Klein - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

"It is the task of art to change the world. With evey artwork we create something in the world that does not get lost. Through art we develop the ability (power?) to transform something of a lower quality into a higher one. My paintings are created out of this mood and awareness. They carry the title ... Healing the Earth".

Dutch artist and educator, Leo Klein was born in 1928 and did not start painting professionally until his retirement from full-time teaching at the Rotterdam Waldorf School.Leo is a self-taught artist who exhibits widely in the Netherlands and North America. His work is found in private collections in many countries. For many years, Leo spent a few months in the US each year traveling - giving talks and conducting painting workshops. He also worked with teachers and parents in schools across the country.
